Our Story
Adding another store to the family.
Austin Tulin, owner of SOMD Hearth, has been working since he was fourteen with fireplaces and chimneys. He started out at a local hardware store – American Hardware – before they went out of business in their fireplace department. This was the job that introduced him to the Hearth Industry, and since then he’s never looked back. When the hardware store closed, Austin helped his manager open his own hearth business and then worked for him.
Years later, Austin has not only opened up one store, but he now has two store locations that provide the same quality service to all of Maryland. He wanted to open a location in his hometown of Waldorf to be able to provide fire appliance services and give back to his hometown community. As well as the other neighboring areas around Waldorf.
We encourage our customers to come in and see our beautiful new showroom, and get to learn more about the great service we provide to the state of Maryland.
